Kehys enhances audience-based museum operations by increasing the accessibility of culture and multicultural competence and by making this expertise available for people in the cultural field. Kehys sees comprehensive research on audiences, consumer behaviour and trends as the prerequisites for audience-based museum operations and service package development.
Competence development of museum professionals
Kehys encourages and promotes the professional development of museum professionals, peer-to-peer learning and enhanced mobility of museum professionals. Kehys promotes the planning and implementation of supplementary and further education in the art museum sector, enhances co-operation between higher education institutes and museums, and initiates networks that will enhance competence and knowledge in the art museum sector.
Strengthening the prerequisites for nationwide co-operation in the art museum sector
Kehys works towards strengthening collaboration in the art museum sector. The focus is on enhancing collection management, supporting common strategic focus areas in the museum sector, and collection mobility. The objective is to increase knowledge and understanding so that various collections are seen as a joint resource throughout the art museum sector. Kehys also increases the availability of collections by supporting the objectives of the National Digital Library project and the Finnish National Gallery’s digitising strategy.
