Berndt Lindholm , on the other hand, was an investigator and explorer, a Realist of his times. Lindholm's subjects were ostensibly extremely unassuming: a pasture with birches, a seashore, a corn field.
In them Lindholm aimed at simplified reality and a directness
of natural effect. The early realistic tendencies in Lindholm's art
were a result of his visit to Paris where he received influences that became
mixed with the teaching of Düsseldorf.
