Fanny Churberg had an unusual career. In 1880 she stopped painting. Totally and without explanation. After this decision she never painted another work, not even for her own enjoyment.
In the field of Finnish landscape painting Fanny Churberg with her
'wild natural instincts' formed an exiting parallel to Werner Holmberg's
frail and idealistic conception of nature. The sudden decision to
discontinue painting ended that development and Fanny Churberg had
no followers.
