Yrjö Ollila

Paimentyttö

The implanting of rainbow colours in Finland required the contributive support of artists that shared an interest in colour theories. Surprisingly enough Finch's best pupil was Magnus Enckell, that ascetic renunciator of colour of the 1890s. Together with Finch he became the leader of a group that was named Septem. The group's nearest example was Finch's Les Vingt, The Twenty. Septem likewise named itself after the number of its members which in the group's first joint show in 1912 was seven. In addition to Enckell and Finch they were Yrjö Ollila ( Shepherdess ), Mikko Oinonen , Verner Thomé, Juho Rissanen and Ellen Thesleff. [NEXT PAGE]
