The Community Relations and Development Department Kehys of the Finnish National Gallery together with the Museum Sector Development Department of the National Board of Antiquities are organizing the Theme days (Teemapäivät) seminar.
The right for collections!
Time: 7. - 8.2.2013
Place: Ateneum Art Museum, Helsinki
Theme days will take place once again in February. Seminar will address the issues related to the availability and usability of the public information and cultural heritage collections. One of the museums’ core tasks is providing information about cultural heritage to the public. What is the best possible way to do that in the current changing world?
Topics will include:

What is the right of the public to use and be part of museums’ collections?

How can museums open up the information they hold for the benefit of their audiences?

What is an Open Museum?

How can the social impact of museum collections’ be constructed?
The programme is designed for the museum professionals working in the field of art and cultural history. However, anybody who is interested in the museum sector development issues is also welcome to take part. The seminar will be held for the 11th time and it is mainly in Finnish.
